China export tax rebate shipments: what should you confirm before booking?

Short answer

An “export tax refund container” is a freight arrangement linked to an exporter’s tax-rebate requirements, not a special container that automatically earns a refund. Confirm the Chinese exporter, goods and document requirements before booking. VSPEED can review China export declaration support alongside freight to Malaysia; rebate eligibility and amounts require the exporter’s tax review.

For Malaysian importers whose Chinese supplier or exporter needs a formal export arrangement supporting a tax-rebate claim. It is not a refund offer to every Malaysian buyer.

Agree the exporter and responsibilities first

Ask the supplier which entity will export, which entity will handle tax matters and whether an export agent is involved. Request their document requirements before setting the loading date. Share the arrangements with the freight team so shipment references and commercial documents can be checked together.

Use the current rules, not an old rebate percentage

China’s 2026 export VAT and consumption-tax administration measures cover filing, declarations and supporting records. Goods, transaction structure and the applicable policy determine treatment. Ask the exporter or its tax adviser to confirm eligibility, rate and required records for this shipment; a freight quotation cannot establish these by itself.

Prepare the cargo and document pack

Start with the invoice, packing list, product description, quantity, packed dimensions, weight, factory pickup point and Malaysian delivery address. Include the exporter’s declaration instructions and available product codes. If the supplier changes the invoice, packing or exporting entity, send the revised documents before dispatch.

Keep the China and Malaysia charges separate

China export tax treatment and Malaysian import charges are separate. Ask for a quotation identifying origin handling, freight, customs coordination and final delivery. Do not deduct an expected supplier rebate from the freight bill unless the parties have expressly agreed that commercial arrangement.

What VSPEED can review

VSPEED’s China–Malaysia freight services can review export declaration support, FCL or LCL requirements and Malaysian clearance and delivery. Send the supplier’s requirements with the cargo details so the team can confirm the work it can arrange and the documents still needed. Tax filing responsibilities must be agreed with the exporter.

FAQ

Does booking FCL guarantee an export tax rebate?

No. Container choice does not establish tax eligibility. Confirm the export and tax requirements before shipment.

Is the rebate paid to the Malaysian importer?

Do not assume so. Confirm the Chinese tax applicant and any price agreement with your supplier. It is separate from the freight service.

What should I send first?

Send the invoice or packing list, supplier details and its export declaration requirements, plus the pickup and delivery locations.
