Check consistency before the declaration is prepared
Check that the invoice and packing list agree on the goods, quantities and parties involved. Include the origin, cargo photos and any available product specifications or existing approvals. If a supplier revises the packing or invoice, send the revised version to the team before the declaration is prepared.
What the K2 covers
The K2 is the official export declaration lodged with Royal Malaysian Customs when goods leave Malaysia. It records what is being shipped — description, quantity, value, HS code and destination — so Customs can assess the export. On a cross-border move like Malaysia to Singapore, the K2 is the Malaysian-side export declaration; the Singapore side has its own import requirements.
K1, K2, K3 — the short version
You will see a few K-forms. K1 declares goods imported into Malaysia. K2 declares goods exported out of Malaysia. K3 covers movement of goods within Malaysia or between Peninsular and East Malaysia in certain dutiable cases.
